If a customer has succeeded in clogging up their drainage system, it is time to recommend a plumber with a snakeing unit. Disposers are not really garbage cans as some folks expect them to be and will not handle certain types of garbage. Some examples are corn husks and lima beans shells; things that are stringy will not get torn apart and clog the drain. Vigorous use of a toilet plunger is all that can be tried. Chemicals will ruin the disposer.
