Whirlpool 27" Dryer - The king of dryers - the master design. This design has been manufactured since about 1995 and has been copied by both Samsung and LG. Over 50% of dryer repairs are on this design. Many parts look the same but do not interchange with Korean copies. The outer cover changes and grand computers are mounted above on Duet, LG and Samsung but the core heating and tumbling systems are almost identical. Diagnosis procedures are the same for all these many brands. There is no reason to be intimidated by the look and expense of these dryers. From the outside both gas and electric dryers are identical.
Whirlpool 29" Dryers - The old workhorse. This great design has been made since the the 1960's and still continues. Like the 27" design, it is marketed under many brand names although it has not been copied by the Koreans. Because of its reliability, many are still in service. Extensive videos cover both the 27 and 29" models. The motor is on the bottom right on all 29" models. Parts do not interchange between the 27 and 29" designs.
