Dishwashers error and fault codes are similar but less sophisticated than other appliances. The computer is simpler and the readout screen is smaller. Often, instead of reading out an "F" code, they lock up and blink one or more of the lights in a particular pattern. (As with all appliances only view the codes as a clue, not the solution.) This also occurs during "Child Lock" mode. The most common error is a blinking clean light on many Whirlpool models. See "Blinking Light".
Before concluding that there is a true failure, carefully read the user manual, cycle the 110VAC and try all the setting combinations. I have corrected many such lockups just by clearing the computer memory and they never came back. Error codes are very model specific and require checking that particular service manual for information. Often a model specific tech sheet will be found within the unit.
